Clayworx - Ceramic Arts Learning Centre’s charitable work enriches, educates, and inspires people through the joy of working with clay and learning an appreciation of the world’s most ancient and complex artform - ceramics!
Approximately 140 individuals use the Clayworx studios and state-of-the-art ceramic equipment to create their unique and beautiful wares. At any given time, the pottery and sculptural work of 35+ local ceramic artists can be purchased in the retail store at 664 Dundas Street. In May and November each year they hold offsite sales called the Potters Markets at which the diverse work of 40-65 local artists is available for purchase.
For those who love to get dirty, they also offer a broad array of hands-on classes and workshops for people aged 7 and up of all skill levels and interests.
Clayworx - Ceramic Arts Learning Centre is in a century-old heritage building, which was lovingly restored through the hard work of many volunteers. Located at 664 Dundas Street, the building was transformed over five years from a dilapidated commercial space into a gorgeous community facility.
In 2017,Clayworx - Ceramic Arts Learning Centre started engaging our local community in special workshops to create handmade tiles for several monumental public mosaic installations. Our Celebrate Canada 150, Wayfinding, and Gateway mosaics are making London’s Old East Village a destination of interest for tourists and the local community alike. In the summer of 2022, we’ll be installing another 900 square feet of handmade tiles on the façade of Indwell’s Embassy Commons building just east of us at 744 Dundas Street. Their mosaic journey continues, with many more to come. Come check it out!
